The ERuDeF Institute has set up an electronic library with over 2000 books in the fields of biodiversity conservation and management, sustainable development, agriculture and agroforestry, project writing, and management amongst others.

The electronic library will allow users to read library books and conduct research without actually stepping into the physical library. Users will be able to study or research at home, in the office, or at school using the internet.

According to the Acting Director of ERuDeF Institute, Akeh Nug, constant complaints from students motivated the establishment of this e-library.

“Students complained of the difficulty in accessing books in the fields of biodiversity conservation and management, sustainable development, agriculture and agroforestry, project writing, and management. They often complained each time they were given assignments that valuable books in biodiversity conservation are always coded. This was greatly impeding research and ERuDeF Institute being a research institution could not pretend to be indifferent with this status quo,” Akeh said.

The e-library will go operational in the months ahead.
