he director of The ERuDeF Institute of Biodiversity and Nonprofit Studies announces the official launch of The Cameroon Mountains Conservation Initiative slated for the 27th of June, 2017 from 9:00am prompt at the Institute’s Mile 18, Campus Buea.
The CaMCI is an initiative of the ERuDeF Institute, which seeks to build national leadership through conservation CSOs to take the lead in the management of the Cameroon Mountains and to complement the existing and dwindling efforts of the international NGOs in the country. This initiative will also enable CSOs to take the core lead in the conservation of Cameroon Mountains and the sustainable management of natural resources therein. The Mountains and highlands involved are: Mt Cameroon, Mt Nlonako, Mt Muanenguba, Mt Kupe, Rumpi Hills, Lebialem Highlands, Mt Bamboutos, Mt Oku, Ijim Mountain (Fundong), Bamenda Highlands, and Tchabal Mbabo Mountains.
Leaders of Conservation CSOs around these Mountains are all invited to this grand launch. A Network of Cameroon Mountains Conservation Organisations will be created during this occasion and an executive body elected. Your presence will be highly appreciated.
